AWE Begins Core Analysis at Waitsia-3 Appraisal Well in Perth Basin
AWE has begun coring ops at its Waitsia-3 appraisal well in the Perth Basin of Australia.
Preliminary analysis shows the target Kingia formation was intersected on depth prognosis at 3,211 m and two sections of core have been cut. On completion of coring operations, the well will be drilled to a total depth of 3,706 m before acquiring a full suite of wireline logs.
Waitsia-3 was spudded on 19 May 2017 and is forecast to take approximately seven weeks in total to complete.
