Athabasca's Wells Placed on Production in Q3 Exceed Company's Type Curves

  Athabasca Oil released its Q3 results where it discussed highlights from the quarter and its intent to release its 2018 capital budget on December 6, 2017. Highlights include:

  • Q3 production was 36,133 boe/d (90% liquids)
    • October production was 41,000 boe/d
  • Capital expenditures in Q3 were $67.7 million

Operations Update

Light Oil

Athabasca's average daily production for light oil in Q3 was 7,875 boe/d (54% liquids). Its capital expenditures for Q3 were $47.3 million.

Placid Montney

In the company's Placid Montney acreage, 8 wells were completed in Q3. From Athabasca's planned 5 well pad, the 4th was placed on production in Q3 with an average IP30 of 1,206 boe/d (66% liquids), which was above the company's type curve. The remaining pad will be put on production during the month of November.

Kaybob Duvernay


In the company's Kaybob Duvernay acreage, which it operates in a JV with Murphy, a three well oil pad was placed on production with an average restricted IP30 of 795 boe/d (72% liquids), exceeding the type curve of 530 boe/d.
