Permian-focused Concho Resources Inc. is rumored to be pursuing a potential buyout of rival Clayton Williams, according to a report by Bloomberg.

In October, Clayton Williams announced that it was exploring strategic alternatives with assistance from Goldman Sachs. In 3Q15, Clayton Williams tagged 1,433 MBOE in cumulative production.
