Concho Resources Eyes Takeover of Clayton Williams
Permian-focused Concho Resources Inc. is rumored to be pursuing a potential buyout of rival Clayton Williams, according to a report by Bloomberg.
In October, Clayton Williams announced that it was exploring strategic alternatives with assistance from Goldman Sachs. The company noted that "potential strategic alternatives to be considered during the review may include the sale of certain of the Company’s core assets, a recapitalization transaction or a merger."
In 3Q15, Clayton Williams tagged 1,433 MBOE in cumulative production.
When reached for comment by Shale Experts, both Concho and Clayton Williams declined to comment.
