Former Chesapeake COO to Take Helm of Tapstone Energy
GSO Capital backed, Tapstone Energy has named Steven C. Dixon as Chief Executive Officer.
Dixon will replace Tom L. Ward effective Jan. 1, 2017. Dixon most recently served as Executive Vice President of Operations and Geosciences and Chief Operating Officer of Chesapeake Energy. Dixon has over 36 years of industry experience and a proven track record of achieving significant production and reserve growth while overseeing the largest drilling program in the world during his tenure at Chesapeake. Ward, who founded Tapstone, SandRidge Energy and co-founded Chesapeake Energy, will maintain a large ownership stake in Tapstone and again focus his efforts on a new venture to be based in Oklahoma City.
