Adding to the legion of companies cutting jobs in response to low commodity prices, GE has ramped up cuts across its oil field equipment sector, according to a report by Bloomberg.
In total, 575 job cuts were made across the division by the company.
GE joins companies including ConocoPhillips, Carbo Ceramics, Range Resources, Shell, Halliburton, Weatherford and Baker Hughes, who have all trimmed their workforce to combat low oil prices.
