Rig Count: Woodford, Utica Post +2 Rig Gains; Permian -3
According to Baker Hughes' April 8, 2016 rig count report, U.S. rig counts have dropped by -7 overall, while Canada reported a decrease, losing -8. In March 2016, the International market lost -33.
Overall, -5 horizontal were taken down this week and vertical rigs also dropped by -5. The Permian and Bakken saw loses this week, losing -3 and -2 rigs, respectively.
The Woodford and Utica plays both posted rig gains of +2.
For the U.S., the total year-over-year (YOY) rig count drop is now at -545. The current active rig count in the U.S. is 443.
Canada's rig count declined by -8. The country's rig count has fallen by -58 rigs YOY with 41 rigs currently active.
On the International front, rig counts dropped by -33 in March of this 2016, with 985 rigs currently active (a loss of -266 YOY).
