Trump Fast-Tracks Keystone XL, Dakota Access Pipelines via Executive Order
During his first week in office, President Donald Trump signed executive orders that will advance the approval process for the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines, according to multiple reports.
Thoughout his campaign, Trump voiced his support for the projects and said that, if elected, he would streamline the approval process while simultaneously working to ensure that a share of the related profits would fall back to U.S. taxpayers.
During the Obama administration, there was a concentrated effort to block both projects.
