YPF Discovers New Pay Zone Near Vaca Muerta
The Argentine state-owned YPF announced Thursday, August 15, 2014 that it has found a new shale oil deposit in the province of Neuquen, the location of the Vaca Muerta Shale, according to a report from Fox News Latino.
CEO Miguel Galuccio said that the discovery was in the Agrio formation, and that production operations will be carried out from neighboring Mendoza province.
The well's production profile is not yet known.
YPF does not expect legal issues to impact development.
