The EPIC Midstream's EPIC Pipeline has shipped its first batch of Permian crude, according to a report by Reuters.

This follows on the heels of Plains All American's Cactus II Pipeline, which went into service earlier this week.

Permian operators have been faced with limited takeaway options in the play in recent years. The completion of the EPIC Pipeline, the Cactus II as well as Phillips 66 / Enbridge's Gray Oak Pipeline (which is slated to come into service by the end of 2019) are providing operators with much-needed midstream support.

The three pipelines have boosted takeaway capacity in the Permian by over 1.8 million barrels per day.
