ExxonMobil is launching an initiative to reduce its workforce during the next three to five year period, according to a report by Bloomberg.
Citing people familiar with the matter, the report says that the company plans to cut 5-10% of its employees on an annual basis. The vast majority of the cuts will affect employees who are in corporate positions.
The cuts will be levied based upon employee performance metrics.
According to the report, the first of such reductions will take place this year, as the evaluation process is already underway.
