Talos Energy Completes Takeover of Stone Energy

Talos Energy has completed its previously announced acquisition of GOM-focused Stone Energy.
The acquisition was an all-stock deal worth ~$1.98 billion. Prior to striking the deal, Stone had working to clear up its debt load and had emerged from bankruptcy in February 2017.
Apollo and Riverstone formed Houston, Texas-based Talos in 2012, committing up to $600 million in capital for the company to acquire and develop oil and gas assets in the Gulf Coast of the United States and the Gulf of Mexico.
