Devon Said To be In Talks to Acquire Enerplus

Reuters is reporting that Devon is looking to buy Enerplus. This acquistion would add significant scale to Devon's Bakken operations. As you might remember, Devon entered the bakken through it acquistions of WTX Energy. The company later bolted on RimRock's bakken assets.

Enerplus has operations mostly in the bakken and some non-op assets in the Marcellus. The company produced 103 mboe/d as of the third quarter with 77% of that from the bakken.
