Chesapeake Energy said it will acquire natural gas player, Southwestern Energy for a deal worth $7.4 billion or $6.69 per share. Under the terms of the agreement, Southwestern shareholders will receive a fixed exchange ratio of 0.0867 shares of Chesapeake common stock for each share of Southwestern common stock owned at closing.
