Chesapeake Energy has confirmed that it is acquiring 70,000 net acres from Free-Port McMoran in the Haynesville Play for $87 Million.

In its second quarter 2016 report, Freeport-McMoRan announced that it completed the sale of its Haynesville shale assets in North Louisiana for cash consideration of $87 million in July 2016.
In the company's June 2016 presentation, the company noted that its Haynesville asset produced 89 MMcfe/d.
