Kodiak Oil & Gas Corp has signed an agreement with North Plains Energy LLC and Mercuria Bakken LLC to acquire additional producing properties and undeveloped leaseholds in the Bakken Shale play of Williston basin. The purchase price is $590 million including $540 million in cash and $50 million in common shares of Kodiak. Since May 2011, Kodiak has acquired a property every quarter in Bakken and probably competes with Linn energy for acreage in this shale play.
