Oil India Ltd. said Monday it is in talks to buy stakes in ConocoPhillips’s oil sand assets in Canada, Chesapeake Energy Corp.’s Mississippi Lime formation in the U.S. and the Gabon assets of France’s Etablissements Maurel et Prom SA as it seeks to expand its footprint overseas and increase production through acquisitions.
“We have earmarked 60 billion rupees-70 billion rupees ($1.09 billion-$1.27 billion) for overseas acquisitions,” Finance Director T.K. Ananth Kumar said.
