Plains Resources announced the formation of a five year exploration joint venture with Enron Oil & Gas Corp. covering an area of mutual interest of about 180,000 acres in Jefferson County, Texas. Plains currently owns or controls about 90,000 acres within the area.
Under the joint venture agreement, Plains and Enron Oil & Gas will conduct a proprietary seismic program over this acreage and will drill at least two exploratory wells in early 1993. Plains will operate the property and each company will hold a 50 percent stake in the venture.
