Marathon Oil said it it acquiring the Eagle Ford Asset from Warbug & Kayne-Anderson-backed Ensign Natural Resources.
As one might remember, Ensign initially acquired its position from Pioneer who had a JV with Reliance in June 2019. In 2020 the company acquired some assets from NewPek. In Nov 2021 the company went on to acquire the remaining JV assets from Reliance. At the close of the Reliance acquisition Ensign had 130,000 net acres and 40,000 boe/d.
