Pinedale Anticline >> Overview
Another Rocky Mountain play, Wyoming's Pinedale/Jonah play is a gas-bearing formation in the Green River Basin that is analogous to Jonah Field. According to Shell, the formation is the third largest gas field in the United States. It is estimated to hold up to 40 trillion cubic feet of gas, of which 20-25 tcf is viewed as recoverable.
Companies currently active in the Pinedale Anticline include QEP Resources, Double Eagle Petroleum and Royal Dutch Shell.
