Fairway Resources, LLC was founded in 2005. It subsequently formed Fairway Resources Partners, LP and Fairway Resources Partners II, LLC, before developing its third iteration, Fairway Resources Partners III, LLC and its affiliates (“Fairway III”). Fairway III was formed in June 2016 to pursue an “acquire and exploit strategy,” as the oil and gas industry continues to transform itself in the wake of the recent precipitous commodity price decline. Fairway III made its first acquisition in November 2016 when it closed on the purchase of Samson Resources’ properties in the central portion of the Anadarko Basin. Fairway III’s financial backing is provided by members of management and a fund led by Denham Capital Management LP.
