Antero Edits Marcellus, Utica Strategy During Completions Haitus

As Antero Resources defers a portion of its Marcellus and Utica completions in the first part of 2015, the company has honed its completion strategy across both plays in an effort to maximize returns.

In the Marcellus, Antero has bolstered its results by utilizing longer laterals paired with shorter stage lengths and faster drilling times. These changes have driven development costs down 21%.

The company has IDed a target lateral length of 9,000' for 2015. Stage length and frac stages per well for 2015 has been pinpointed at 200' and 45 stages, respectively.

Antero's spud-to-spud days in the Marcellus have decreased from 37 to 29 days since 2011.
