Down by 4 This Week, Rig Count Hits 838

According to Baker Hughes' September 25, 2015 rig count report, rigs counts continued their downward trend in U.S. and Canada. However, the report posted a gain on the international front.

The Eagle Ford and Permian stand out, having lost 3 rigs each.  Horizontal rigs in North America lost 11 overall, while vertical rigs gained 4.

The U.S. rig count dropped by four this week, which brings the total year-over-year (YOY) rig count drop to 1,093. The current active rig count in the U.S. is 838.

- Eagle Ford -3, 85 total

- Marcellus 0, 49 total

- Bakken -1, 67 total

- Utica 0, 20 total

- Permian -3, 250 total

- Woodford 0, 40 total

- Miss Lime 0, 14 total

Canada's rig count declined by six. The country's rig count has fallen by 253 rigs YOY with 176 rigs currently active.

On the International front, rig counts rose by 19 in August of this year.
