Former Chesapeake CEO Aubrey McClendon Dies in Car Crash
Founder and former CEO of Chesapeake Energy Corp. Aubrey McClendon has died in a car crash, according to multiple reports.
He was 56 years old.
This news comes a day after McClendon was indicted by the DOJ for lease bid rigging.
According to reports, McClendon crashed into an enbankment at high rate of speed. Immediately following the collision, his vehicle, a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe, was engulfed in flames. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
Police are still investigating what caused the accident.
McClendon is survived by his wife, Katie McClendon, and their three children.
