MDU Resources Group, Inc. has named Jason L. Vollmer to the position of treasurer and director of Cash and Risk Management, effective Nov. 29, to replace Douglass A. Mahowald, who will retire after nearly 33 years with the company.
Vollmer joined MDU Resources in 2005 as a financial analyst. He has held a number of accounting and finance positions with increasing responsibility, most recently as manager of the Treasury, Cash and Risk Management Department.
Doran N. Schwartz, chief financial officer of MDU Resources, commented: "Jason has worked closely with Doug in the past five years and has developed the necessary expertise to lead the Treasury, Cash and Risk Management areas. Jason has developed strong relationships with our banking and risk management partners, which will make for a smooth and effective transition."
Vollmer, a native of Willow City, North Dakota, has a bachelor's degree in accounting from Minot State University. He is a certified public accountant. He and his wife, Alana, live in Bismarck with their daughter.
