MarkWest Announces Marcellus NGL Transport Agreement with XTO Energy

MarkWest Energy Partners, L.P. announced today that it has executed a long-term, fee-based agreement with XTO Energy, Inc. (XTO), a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE: XOM), to extend MarkWest’s natural gas liquids (NGL) gathering pipeline in northwest Pennsylvania to XTO’s processing plant in Butler County, Pennsylvania, which is expected to commence operations in late 2012.
MarkWest previously announced an extension of its Marcellus NGL gathering pipeline north from its Houston, Pennsylvania NGL fractionation and marketing complex to the Bluestone processing complex in Butler County, Pennsylvania, which MarkWest acquired in June of this year.
