Noble Shifts Rig Strategy in 2Q; Advances Fleet

Noble Corporation plc reported second quarter 2014 net income of $235 million, or $0.91 per diluted share, compared to $256 million, or $0.99 per diluted share, for the first quarter of 2014. For the second quarter of 2013, net income totaled $177 million, or $0.69 per diluted share. Results for the second quarter of 2013 included $18 million, or $0.06 per diluted share, related to cancellation of a contract awarded to a jackup rig under construction. Revenues for the second quarter of 2014 were $1.2 billion compared to $1.3 billion in the first quarter of 2014 and $1.0 billion in the second quarter of 2013.
