Permian Player EQT Suspends Drilling; Lease Expires

EQT had it Q1 2015 earnings call on April 23, 2015, and tucked away in there was the fact that the company has suspended its Permian basin drilling.  

In January, the company guided that it planned to drill 15 wells in 2015.  It is important to note that the company acquired this acreage in a swap with Range Resources.

"Total operating expenses at EQT Production were $316.4 million or $81.2 million higher quarter-over-quarter. In March, we decided to suspend drilling in the Permian Basin as projected economics continued to deteriorate. There are several expenses in the first quarter related to that decision as well as to the lower commodity prices in general."
