Rig Count: U.S. Gains +13 HZ Rigs; Permian, Barnett Counts Jump

Rig Count: U.S. Gains +13 HZ Rigs; Permian, Barnett Counts Jump

This week, rig counts continued their upward trend in North America.

U.S. rig counts posted a gain of +15, while Canada's rig count increased by +7. In June 2016, the International market lost -28 rigs.

This week, horizontal rigs saw a gain of +13, ending at 357 while vertical rig counts added +1, ending at 61. The Permian and Barnett added the most rigs this week, increasing counts by +8 and +3, respectively.

For the U.S., the total year-over-year (YOY) rig count drop is now at -414. The current active rig count in the U.S. is 462.

Canada's rig count has fallen by -98 rigs YOY with 102 rigs currently active.

On the International front, rig counts fell by -28 in June of 2016, with 927 rigs currently active (a loss of -219 YOY).
