Rig Loss Slowing Down as Rig Count Remains Flat

According to Baker Hughes' October 23, 2015 rig count report, rigs counts stabilized across the domestic market while Canada and the International markets posted gains.

The rig loss rate may finally be slowing down this week. The Utica saw the return of 2 rigs to the play, and the Eagle Ford saw 1 rig added.  The Marcellus lost 3 rigs, the Permian continues its rig drop, losing four rigs, and the Miss Lime lost 2 rigs this week. 

The U.S. rig count remained flat this week, posting no loss or gain. The total year-over-year (YOY) rig count drop to 1,140.

The current active rig count in the U.S. is 787.
