Select Energy Services LLC has initiated a joint venture with Fountain Quail Water Management, wholly-owned subsidiary of Aqua-Pure Ventures Inc.

The companies recently completed a recycling project in the Permian region for a large, public, independent E&P company, which has successfully treated and recycled nearly 300,000 barrels of water on site.

Under the agreement, Fountain Quail will contribute technical expertise and equipment to Select's water management solutions, while Select will provide capital necessary to expand Fountain Quail's capabilities.  Both companies will leverage current energy producer partnerships to expand business opportunities.

John Schmitz, CEO of Select Energy Services, commented: "We strive to find efficient ways to treat and re-use produced water in every basin.  The Fountain Quail technology complements our existing portfolio of water solutions and we expect this venture to be mutually beneficial."

The agreement has solidified Fountain Quail's ROVER mobile water treatment package, which addresses one of the most pressing challenges for operators in unconventional oil and gas plays.  The ROVER is a cost-effective, in-field technology that can treat up to 10,000 barrels of flowback and produced water per day, outputting clean brine that can be re-used in a broad range of drilling operations.

Mike Howdeshell, VP of Select Energy Services' engineered water solutions group, Fluidity, added: "We have vetted and piloted numerous technologies for clarification of salt water, and ROVER proved the most effective and consistent under all variations of conditions. Fountain Quail technologies are the perfect fit for our Fluidity portfolio of solutions."

Richard Broderick, Fountain Quail /Aqua-Pure EVP business development and chairman of the FQS board, commented: "The seamless combination of Select's project coordination and management, containment, trucking and transfer services, along with the ROVER treatment process was evident. The validation achieved from our latest commercial project has solidified our joint venture with Select and provided a convincing reference for future opportunities."
