U.K. Opens Door to Frac Ops as Trespass Laws Face Overhaul

Government sources in the UK have stated they are considering overhauling UK trespass laws, making it easier to extract shale gas, according to multiple news reports.
Consideration for this overhaul comes in light of concerns government officials have over obstructions to shale drilling. Landowners and other parties could hold up drilling in costly and lengthy court battles.
Any planned changes are expected in the coming months, and will likely be the most controversial of David Cameron's plans for Fraccing thus far.
Currently, companies need permission from all landowners whose land they drill underneath. Horizontal drilling would typically require the permission of multiple landowners.
