Unit Corp: SCOOP Quickly Being De-Risked

Unit Corporation is testing their SCOOP acreage in 2014. The company has reported progress in regard to its delineation activities in the area.

Position In its latest presentation from March 25, 2014, Unit Corporation is showing this area as an emerging play  Unit plans to spend $58 MM drilling 12 wells.  The current inventory is 150-175 wells.   Well costs are between $4.3 MM and $7 MM.




Marathon Oil also detailed SCOOP plans for 2014 The company will drill 20 new wells 2014   Maintain >100,000 acres on their SCOOP Position, adjacent to Unit's position in the SCOOP.




Continental has the largest SCOOP position with ~400,000 net acres.   The company plans to operate 18 average rigs in 2014, with 40% of the drilling using 2-mile laterals.   The well costs are $9 MM for 1-mile lateral…
