Argentina Creates $2B Shale Development Fund

In order to capitalize on its immense unconventional resource potential, Argentina has created a development fund that could be worth in excess of $2 billion, according to the government's official gazette.
The key target of this fund is the Vaca Muerta shale play, which has drawn immense interest from numerous international companies. The majority of exploration rights within the country are retained by Argentina's state-controlled YPF, Chevron and Americas Petrogas.
The money that will support the fund will be pulled from Argentina's central bank reserves.
