Australia Opens 2020 Bid Round for New Offshore Permits
The Commonwealth of Australia has opened up its 2020 bidding round for offshore acreage.
Per the country's official government website, companies will have the opportunity to bid on release areas until Tuesday 1 June 2021.
The acreage release comprises 42 areas across 5 basins offshore:
- Northern Territory
- Western Australia
- Victoria
- Territory of Ashmore and Cartier Islands
All areas are available for work-program bidding.
This year’s release is dominated by areas in established oil and gas provinces with existing infrastructure. This ensures we can continue to deliver long-term energy supply for all Australians into the future.
