Bakken/Williston Update - February 2016: Completion Down 40% YoY

Take a quick dive into completions in the Bakken Shale:
Completions activity has slowed by around 40% from 2015 to 2016 year-over-year in the Bakken Shale.
January Completions in 2015: 110 total
January Completions in 2016: 69 total
February Completions in 2015: 77 total
February Completions in 2016: 40 total
The number of operators completing wells is similar for January 2015-2016, with 19 operators in 2015 versus 15 in 2016. Slawson Exploration notably dropped activity, completing 13 wells in January 2015, and completing none in January 2016. Many operators that did continue to complete wells in 2016 increased activity over 2015 levels. Hess and Marathon are an exception to this, with Hess dropping activity ~50% from 25 completions in 2015 to 11 in 2016.
