CEOs Papa, Kibsgaard: Another Permian Problem on the Horizon

The Permian has seen an increase in complications as more and more E&Ps grow their operations in the basin. Earlier this year, takeaway issues and a lack of infrastructure in the play have ultimately caused companies to defer the completion of wells.
Now a new issue as arisen - the parent-child paradigm is set to cause additional problems, namely due to the reduction in pressure as more and more wells are drilled in the area. This causes newly drilled wells to not produce at as high a level as wells that have been drilled earlier.
E&Ps are dealing with having to manage pressure in the new parent wells that are being drilled so later wells are not plagued by large drops in pressure.
