Cabot Spending 30% More in 2018; Boosting Marcellus Rigs, Activity

Cabot reported its Q3 2017 results as well as its preliminary 2018 plans. Q3 highlights include:

Q3 Production: 169.5 Bcfe (up +12% YOY) Completed 24.2 wells in Q3 (15.2 Marcellus / 9 Eagle Ford) New Marcellus Pipelines Fueling Activity Increase

In 2018, two new pipelines are coming online in Appalachia, which has been plagued by a lack of transport infrastructure. The two new projects (Constitution and Atlantic Sunrise projects) and will be transporting 25% of all Marcellus production to the Gulf Coast.

In 2018, the company will be increasing its Marcellus activity due to the increase in available pipeline infrastructure in the play. This increase in planned spending and activity is emerging as a trend for multiple Appalachia-focused E&Ps including Range and EQT.
