Capex Plans Jump After 2Q: Nearly 30 E&P Companies Raise 2022 Budgets

In their second quarter reports, a large number of E&P companies made sizable increases to their 2022 capital spending plans.

A total of 29 companies increased their 2022 budgets following the second quarter (the average increase is +15%).

Oil-Focused E&Ps: 22 companies increased 2022 budgets (average increase of +14%) Gas-Focused E&Ps: 7 companies increased 2022 budgets (average increase of +12%)

The largest increases came from Silverbow Resources, SandRidge Energy, and Riley Exploration Permian, who increased their 2022 budgets by 47%, 37%, and 24%, respectively.
