Cobalt's GOM Prospects Deliver in 3Q; Updates Key Projects

Cobalt International Energy, Inc. announced a net loss from continuing operations of $49.7 million, or $0.12 per basic and diluted share for the third quarter of 2015, compared to a net loss from continuing operations of $67.1 million, or $0.16 per basic and diluted share, for the third quarter of 2014.

Key Points: Operations at its Heidelberg development are on track to begin initial production in the second quarter of 2016. In the deepwater Gulf of Mexico, Cobalt recently completed drilling operations on the North Platte #3 appraisal well and is currently evaluating well results, which seem encouraging. The Anchor #2 sidetrack #1 results to date suggest that the reservoirs are well developed and that Anchor could be one of the largest oil accumulations in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico…
