Energy Transfer Upsizes Permian Gas Takeaway to 2.3 Bcf/d

Energy Transfer is moving quickly to scale up a major new gas corridor out of the Permian Basin.
The company announced that it will increase the transportation capacity of Transwestern Pipeline’s planned Desert Southwest expansion after identifying additional demand through a recent open season. The expansion is designed to serve fast-growing markets in Arizona and New Mexico, where population growth, economic momentum, and rising power needs are driving a renewed focus on dependable, dispatchable fuel supply.
To accommodate the larger volume of shipper commitments, the project’s mainline diameter will be upsized from 42 inches to 48 inches. Energy Transfer said that change increases expected capacity to up to 2.3 Bcf/d, depending on final compression configuration. The company also…
