Even at Low Oil Price, Eagle Ford Operator on the Hunt for Acquisitions

 At the 2017 JP Morgan Enery Equity Conference, Murphy Oil President and CEO, Roger Jenkins delivered Murphy's strategy for operating in a $40/bbl price environment. 

For the remainder of 2017, Murphy will keep its capital budget for Eagle Ford ($370 million) unchanged.  Murphy is currently operating 3 rigs in the Eagle Ford Play, 2 in Karnes County, and 1 in Dimmit County, TX.  The company has been busy testing the Austin Chalk and downspacing in the lower Eagle Ford.  The completion schedule remains unchanged with 59 wells planned this year, 49 in the Lower Eagle Ford, 5 in the Upper Eagle Ford and 5 Austin chalk.
