Gripen Gas Annouces Well Results for Sweden Alum Shale

Gripen Gas announced today the drilling results from their Ekeby Permit, onshore Sweden. Three wells were drilled to appraise the biogenic gas GH--2 discovery made in March this year. The GH--2 discovery was made in the organic rich Cambro--Ordovician Alum Shale.
Two of the three wells were step--out wells tested the prospectivity and geological development of the Alum Shale away from the GH--2 discovery. A further well twinned to the GH--2 discovery was cored to analyse the Alum Shale section. A further drill stem test was carried out on the discovery well GH--2 where commercial rates were obtained.
In addition to the work around GH--2, the well BY--1 (7km east of GH--2) was pressure tested and gas flow was confirmed. The laboratory measured methane content of a gas sample…
