Jones Energy has terminated its founder & CEO Jonny Jones as well as company president Mike McConnell "effective immediately", according to multiple reports.
Jeff Tanner has been promoted to COO and has simultaneously been tapped as the interim CEO. He was previously the VP of Exploration for Southwestern Energy.
Jones will continue to serve as the company's chairman of the board.
Jones Energy's operations are focused on the Anadarko Basin as well as the MERGE play.
