Nebraska Court Approves Keystone XL Pathway

After a lengthy delay, TransCanada Corp.'s proposed pathway for the Nebraska leg of the Keystone XL Pipeline has been approved by the state's highest court, according to a report by Bloomberg.
Despite overcoming this hurdle, the project's fate remains undecided. On January 9, 2015, the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate Energy Committee passed a bill that would force approval of the project. President Barack Obama, who has yet to approve or deny the project, has said the he would veto such legislation.
However, White House press secretary Eric Schultz has stated that the State Department will take the court decision into consideration as it completes its evaluation on the project.
