Operators Revisiting the Haynesville Armed with New Strategies

As new completion technologies emerge, operators are revisting mature plays and applying new the strategies to increase upside.

Comstock Resources Inc. and Chesapeake Energy Corp. are amending their completion strategies in the Haynesville and recompleting existing wells to boost production.

Comstock is ramping up its Haynesville results by increasing lateral lengths on wells as well as using more proppant and fluid during the completions process. The changes have more than doubled EURs and estimated 24-hour IP rates.
