Pioneer CEO Sheffield Talks 2021 Plan; Industry Outlook in 2022, Beyond

In a keynote speech for the 2021 Global Energy Conference, Pioneer Natural Resources CEO Scott Sheffield spoke about his outlook for the industry in the years ahead.

Speaking with Goldman Sachs Managing Director Brian Singer, Sheffield touched on several topics including OPEC+, production and long-term demand estimates.

2021 Plan Flat YOY

For 2021, Pioneer has put its capital base case at $47 WTI / $50 Brent. It plans to keep spending and production relatively flat YOY.

While Sheffield didn't provide specifics, Pioneer spent $1.5 billion and produced 367,000 BOEPD in 2020, which will be comparable to 2021 based on this information.
