As the market downturn forces numerous operators to file Chapter 11, we are taking a look at several new companies that have emerged armed with new capital.

As 2016 gets underway, these companies will likely take advantage of the market by striking deals with debt-laden E&Ps who are looking to unload assets.

Companies to Look Out for in 2016 Red Bluff Resources - $300 Million $300 million in new capital from Pine Brook (August 2015)

Oklahoma City-based Red Bluff will be focused on acquiring, exploring and developing assets in the Permian and MidContinent regions.

The company is led by Timothy Haddican, who was the former VP of Operations & Engineering at RKI Exploration & Production.

LOLA Energy - $250 Million $250 million in new capital from Denham Capital (December 2015)
