Repsol Reconsiders Asset Purchase from Talisman

Repsol SA has again approached Talisman Energy Inc., according to a report from Bloomberg.
The companies are discussing the sale of some of Talisman's assets, and possibly the entire company. Talisman's valuation, which has dropped 60% since the end of August has remained a problem for concluding any deal.
Repsol earlier dropped a plan to buy all of Talisman after conducting due dilligence in August.
Talisman's North Sea assets have seen falling output and are a further obstacle to a potential sale to Repsol.
Repsol could be interested in shale assets owned by Talisman in the Eagle Ford and the Marcellus. The company is under pressure from the market and investors to sell assets.
