YPF, Chevron Clinch $1B Vaca Muerta Shale Development Deal

In a meeting between Michael and Ali Moshiri Galuccio, YPF and U.S. Chevron signed an agreement to develop oil shale in Vaca Muerta.

President and CEO of YPF, Miguel Galuccio, and his counterpart for Latin America and Chevron Africa, Ali Moshiri, signed the deal at the headquarters of the U.S. oil company in Houston, an agreement of terms and conditions to start the first pilot massive development of unconventional oil in Vaca Muerta, Neuquén, in an area of ​​290 km2 comprising Loma Loma La Lata Norte and Campana. 

In that area next year will start the pilot of the first cluster of shale drilling will include more than 100 wells in its initial phase of twelve months. The pilot program is the first step in the development mode which provides YPF factory to carry out the planned production…
