YPF, Petronas Throwing More Cash at the Neuquen After Strong Results

YPF and Petronas announced that they will continue their oil development project in La Amarga Chica, province of Neuquen. The decision to move to the second stage was taken by the good results obtained in the first phase.

The companies plan to invest US$192.5 million on Phase II of the project (US$165 million was invested in Phase I).

For this new stage, both companies include the drilling of 10 horizontal wells and the construction and completion of new works and installations for transporting oil shale production, obtained at the site.

The signing ceremony was held at the offices of YPF in Buenos Aires and was attended by the Vice President of Strategy and Business Development of the company, Fernando Giliberti, and Vice President of International Assets Petronas and president of the…
